Art
My path into design started with a paintbrush, not a mouse. Fine arts gave me the foundation — an eye for composition, color, and visual storytelling — that I carried into graphic design. Some of my earliest memories were waking up at 5am to watch "Drawing with Captain Bob" and yeah, I also loved painting "happy little trees" with Bob Ross. I just always loved creating things. So I went to art school.

Into
Look, it's difficult to make a good living as a painter. I didn't want to work construction or push papers in some office. So as I am sitting there in my mid-20s, pondering my future, this thing called the "internet" is really starting to come into its own. A little push from a friend and I am out buying my first iMac (lime green) and copy of Photoshop and the rest is history.

Design
When I first started architecting and designing websites, "UX" wasn't even a term yet. But as I grew, so did the industry. My work expanded into brand identity, print, motion design, campaign and advertising and eventually experiential engagements — each discipline building on the last, and each one deepening my understanding of how people actually behave and what makes them respond.
